"Balance" Latte Mug

Three variants from my "Balance" series (Spring, Evergreen, and Autumn) on the same mug.




Having all three next to each other is honestly just a really fun way of seeing three different takes on the same tree. I started with the trunk and decided to draw different foliage types a couple times, and that eventually led to what you see here.




I think it's also kind of cool how the drawing process can work like that sometimes. Just like a junction in a tree branch, a multitude of creative pathways can diverge from the same point. Similarly, God is not afraid to use the "unlikely" in how He shapes and cares for us. We may have one idea or vision for a situation, and however dire we make it out to be, we can always rest in the knowledge that He knows, (for certain) out of all the possibilities we could envision, the path that will lead to our ultimate good and His glory.




So do not fear. He knows the "worst-case scenario" inside and out, and He knows how to turn even that for good. As God tells Isaiah:




For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, declares the Lord. For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts.

Take comfort in God's goodness. He is not "tame," and thank Him for that. (C.S. Lewis reference; too good to leave out)
